About

My family has carried the tradition of the convite for 40 years, celebrating the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in the Sierra Juárez mountains of Oaxaca (Northern Oaxaca) and in recent years, alongside the Chinas Oaxaqueñas.

When I studied outside my home state, and later worked in the tourism industry, I found joy in sharing the richness of my culture with others, so they could experience the warmth and hospitality that define my hometown. This is a way of celebrating life that deserves to be understood, preserved and shared.

IBAÁ was born from that act of cultural exchange. Today, I want to share this way of celebrating with the rest of the world, so the tradition stays alive without losing the meaning of its origins.

Every calenda IBAÁ brings to your event carries that same intention: to celebrate with a living tradition instead of just being a performance staged for spectacle, shared the way my family has always shared it: with warmth, with respect, and with joy.
